Welcome
As a contemporary abstract artist based in Perth, Western Australia and seasonally in Petworth, England, my art reflects a life lived within two contrasting landscapes.
Abstraction allows me to explore atmosphere over accuracy; evoking the emotion of a moment rather than recording it factually.
I find beauty in translating onto canvas the feeling of dynamic energy versus calm stillness. The balance in life of Yin and Yang, captured in swift, spirited, brushstrokes and expressive mark-making; contrasting with the gentle, quiet, expansiveness of peace..
My abstract compositions and colour palettes are a visceral response to my moods, feelings and sensory perception of the landscape surrounding me. I freely embrace a multi-layering process of bold shapes, fluid lines and textures, alongside soft gradients, all of which shift and evolve as my emotions dictate.
My paintings are reflective journeys through distant landscapes, both spiritual and geographical.
