‘Ship to Shore’ is a bold, contemporary artwork viewed from an aerial perspective. This original abstract painting is based around an imagined global landmass and seas. The composition is dynamic and colourful with expressive mark-making within the layers. The warm orange colour is depicting energy and heat from populated areas. The title arose from the international communication term of ‘Ship to Shore’. This relates to aviation as well as shipping, therefore I have included a small piece of collaged black and white striped paper which is a symbolic reference to the runway markers for international airliners which airline pilots refer to as the ‘ piano keys’.
The artist signature is on the front in paint and written on the back in permanent ink.
The design continues over all four profile sides therefore framing is not required. It has cord and D-rings and is ready to hang.
