‘ONWARD JOURNEY 1’ is an original abstract painting of a linear composition on canvas, using mixed media, artist quality materials. It is painted dynamically as the feeling of this artwork is that of movement, change, and adaptation, travelling between hemispheres. Where geographical separation and different time zones become constant companions, love and connection remain resilient and eternal. It depicts my emotional response to thoughts of traversing the world, both geographically and spiritually. The subtle colour palette of muted tonal pink and green is applied in many layers and incorporating organic expressive mark-making. The vivid yellow mark-making adding a visual contrast. There is symbolic reference to aviation in this artwork. The striped black and white collage represents in my compositions, flying internationally as airline pilots refer to the striped black and white runway markers as the ‘piano keys’.
The design continues over all profile edges therefore framing is not required. The cord and D- rings are attached making this artworkready to hang.
The artist signature is in the bottom left corner and written in permanent ink on the back of the canvas.
